English Additional Language (EAL)

The study of English as an Additional Language (EAL) from Years 7 through to 12 involves students reading, viewing, listening to, writing, creating, researching and talking about different text types. In Year 7, students begin with straight forward information and by their VCE years they are required to deal with increasingly complex and abstract issues and ideas. Students are encouraged to explore texts and how meaning is conveyed, to develop critical and analytical thinking.
