Principal’s Message

At Melba College every student is valued and supported, enabling them to experience the holistic growth it takes to lead meaningful, productive and enjoyable lives in our complex, ever changing world.

It is a very exciting time for the college. By the start of Semester two 2020, we will have a brand new Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics centre as well as a 4 court multi-story basketball stadium to complement the three new buildings established in 2018.

Our expert, caring staff deliver a challenging, engaging and personalised curriculum that helps students discover their talents and skills, hone their unique attributes, and produce their personal best. Being held to high expectations of achievement, behaviour and participation inspires our students. It builds their confidence and autonomy and helps to create our positive learning environment.

Our suite of co-curricular programs caters for those with interests in sport, music, performance, international engagement, community involvement and leadership. We have pathway options for students beginning at Year 7. Student voice, the active involvement of students in the decision making processes of the college, is also critical to the realisation of our vision for promoting progress and maximising student potential.

Melba students are engaged and connected, have strong principles and are successful as a result of their positive, well-rounded educational experience at the college. Staff at Melba College support students through their college years by focusing on student pathways and ensuring that students pursue subjects that will lead them to post school careers and further education.

A visit to our College will enable you to see this for yourself where I will take you on a school tour and answer any questions you may have.

I look forward to meeting you soon.
